Dear Friends, Supporters and Students –

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at M.E.N.U.S. 2015 this Friday, Oct. 9, at The Beach at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. I am deeply grateful to be honored at this year’s event by Epicurean Charitable Foundation and the esteemed board, whom I admire and is made up of a number of talented, hard-working and dedicated hospitality executives from our city. It is such a privilege to be a part of such a great organization, as the work that they do not only supports local students, but helps to promote the future leaders of our industry. It is a cause near and dear to my heart.

As the President and Chief Operating Officer at Mandalay Bay, I am excited to be the host property of this year’s dine-around featuring more than 50 of Las Vegas’ best restaurants and bars, exciting local entertainment, a silent auction and performances by Cirque du Soleil and others. The evening will be emceed by a local favorite, Emmy-Award winning FOX 5 anchor Jason Feinberg.

The money raised at M.E.N.U.S. will support ECF’s ongoing mission of awarding full-ride scholarships to financially-in need Clark County students who are interested in careers in hospitality, food and beverage, culinary and related fields. What makes the organization so special is the mentorship component, as each scholarship recipient is provided with a mentor from the board for the duration of their education. The program provides the students with personal advice, academic assistance and unique job and internship opportunities during monthly in-person meetings or video chats. This access and insight is invaluable – and I know many of us wish that we had an opportunity like this when we were starting out. By supporting M.E.N.U.S., you are supporting the board and these students in achieving their professional dreams.
