HCF’s associate board is a leadership group of emerging professionals, who leverage their time, networks, and resources to help support HCF’s mission of building the next generation of hospitality leaders.
Our associate board is the winning combination of meaningful engagement and leadership development that includes HCF’s rock-star alumni. Throughout the year, the associate board hosts development seminars relating to finance, health, career development and long-term planning. If you are looking for a way to support to these talented students, Hospitality Charitable Foundation is looking for you.
HCF works to create an interest at the high school level, seeking exceptional students committed to furthering their education and skill in hospitality and culinary arts.
HCF’s primary endeavor gives financially underprivileged students the opportunity to attend a four-year college with premier hospitality and culinary programs. The Foundation has sponsored many high school students as interns in various hotels and restaurants both on the Las Vegas Strip and throughout the city and awarded full-tuition academic scholarships to Clark County high school graduates.
The unique aspect of our program is the level of support provided by the Foundation. Hospitality Charitable Foundation board members mentor each student one-on-one, present varied work experiences, and give professional and ethical guidance throughout their educational experience.
We typically have about 22 students pursuing degrees and careers in hospitality. Currently, all attend UNLV, however we have had students at: Penn State, Johnson & Wales, Culinary Institute of America (CIA), NY and the Art Institute. Our 2022 class of recipients is comprised of 6 promising students from different CCSD high schools. Last year’s incoming class had an average GPA of 4.1 and has an average family income of $27,000.
Students attending UNLV receive scholarship monies of up to $35,000, while those who attend elsewhere receive $48,000. In the past 14 years, we have awarded over $2.1 million in scholarship monies!
